National Earth Day is April 22nd, but in the Tri-Cities, Washington we celebrate it for an entire month with educational activities, tours, talks, crafts, projects, and special events!

In addition to events and activities, Earth Month is a great time to try out some new personal habits that are beneficial to the environment.  Commit to 30 days of a positive change, and see what happens!  What will you do this Earth Month? Here are some ideas to get you started:

Recycle. Check out the Community tab for Recycling information in the Tri-Cities.

Attend an Earth Month activity.  Find events and activities throughout the month of April (and the entire year!) on the Go Green Tricities Calendar.

Reduce the amount of garbage you generate this month. How? Look inside your trash can... what are you throwing out that can be recycled, donated or composted? What are you buying that could mean less trash? Reduce those disposable single-use items, like paper plates, daily drive through window routine, single use bottles and containers, etc..

Organize or participate in a community clean-up or neighborhood beautification project

Reuse.  Repair, repurpose, trade, and/or buy with reuse in mind. BYOB (bring your own bag) when you shop, donate used clothing to thrift stores, buy used whenever possible.
